About IRT
The Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) program is a partnership between Idaho ITS, the Idaho National Guard, and Boise State University. As a federally funded program, it provides valuable cybersecurity training for both civilian and military personnel while helping agencies across the state. Any city, county, or government agency can request support by submitting an ITS application. The IRT team then creates a customized Statement of Work (SOW) to guide tailored cybersecurity assessments and training.

History of IRT
Military training at its finest
IRT is a Department of War (DoW) military training program, available exclusively within the United States and its territories, that provides joint training opportunities to enhance deployment readiness.
At the same time, IRT delivers essential health care, construction, transportation, and cybersecurity services that create lasting benefits for communities across the country.
Information security remains one of the most critical challenges facing the military. Protecting U.S. data and infrastructure is vital to national defense.
To support this mission, IRT is developing cybersecurity training opportunities that help detect, safeguard, assess, and protect our nation from malicious activity.
By building partnerships with government agencies and nonprofit organizations, we aim to lead the creation of innovative processes and procedures that address emerging threats to our people and critical infrastructure.
Through these cooperative, readiness-driven partnerships, IRT serves as a cutting‑edge platform for developing the essential skills needed to operate effectively in contested cyberspace domains.
